Sri Vijaya Puram, May 11: The National Helpline for Senior Citizens (14567) organised a Mother’s Day, in collaboration with Pankh NGO at the Old Age Home Attam Pahad, to honour and support the elderly residents. The programme aimed to spread happiness, care, and awareness about the wellbeing of senior citizens.
The event was marked by a joyful cake-cutting ceremony with the inmates, creating a warm and cheerful atmosphere for the elderly mothers residing at the home. As part of the celebration, Pankh NGO generously gifted a mixer grinder to the Old Age Home for the benefit of the residents.
During the programme, the NHSC team distributed Hearing aid, walkers, knee caps, and waist belts to the inmates in order to support their daily needs and improve their comfort and mobility. These assistive devices were generously arranged with the support of Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Vayoshri Kendra (PMDVK) -ALIMCO Located at Composite Regional Centre (CRC) Brokshbad, Sri Vijyapuram.
A special wellness session was conducted by Dr. Rajini Ahuja, M.D. (Acupuncture), who interacted with the elderly residents and conducted massage and exercise sessions to provide relief from knee pain and improve their physical wellbeing. The inmates actively participated in the session and appreciated the care and support extended to them.
The programme concluded with heartfelt interaction and encouragement for the elderly residents, making the Mother’s Day celebration meaningful and memorable for everyone present.
