Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 30: The Department of Mathematics at Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM) marked “International Mathematics Awareness Month” with a vibrant event organized by the JNRM Mathematical Society today 30th April 2026.
The program was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Pearl Devdass, who highlighted the indispensable role of mathematics in everyday life, from budgeting finances to navigating technology. Mr. ShadabHasan, Head of the Department welcomed the gathering.
Dr. Malai Sambasivam, Chairman of the JNRM Mathematical Society and faculty in the Department of Mathematics, delivered a special lecture to inspire students and foster greater awareness of mathematical concepts.
Ms. Shaiba Sabab, a final-year B.Sc. Mathematics student, hosted the event alongside Shiva Sravani Bera of 2nd year Mathematics, who emceed the ceremony, ensuring smooth proceedings. Rajashri R. of 1st year Mathematics proposed the vote of thanks, concluding the celebratory function on a grateful note. The event underscored the society’s commitment to promoting mathematical enthusiasm among students.
