Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 22: The Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, under the leadership of the Adhyaksh, Mr. Prakash Adhikari, continues its commitment towards strengthening rural infrastructure and improving public amenities.
On 21st April, 2026, the foundation stone was laid for the work “Renovation of CC Road from village road to Mr. Palani’s house including construction of protection wall near Mr. Chelliaha’s house at Calicut Ward No. 06”. This important developmental project is being undertaken under Zilla Parishad, South Andaman.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was performed by Mr. Prakash Adhikari, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, in the presence of Mr. Rajanish Singh, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman. The programme was also graced by Mr. Boominathan, Up-Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad; Mr. D. Satya Narayan, Up-Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti, Prothrapur; Mr. T. Yaghambaram, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Calicut; and Mrs. P. Tamilselvi, Ward Member, Calicut, along with local residents and officials.
The local representatives expressed their appreciation for the timely completion of these works and emphasized the need for continued focus on infrastructure development in the region.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks extended to all dignitaries and officials present.
