
Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 06: World Autism Day, globally observed on 02nd April, was commemorated on 06th April 2026 at GPS S.V. Mandir by the Block Project Office, Diglipur, Samagra Shiksha under Inclusive Education. The programme was organized to promote the theme “From Awareness to Acceptance: Embracing Every Mind” and to enhance understanding of autism among students, teachers, parents, and the community.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Mrs. N. Riya Nandan, PSRT, DEO Diglipur, who highlighted the importance of awareness and collective responsibility in supporting children with autism.
The inaugural address was delivered by Mrs. Mini Menon, Headmistress, who emphasized the need to create a supportive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all children, especially those with special needs. She encouraged everyone to move beyond awareness and actively practice acceptance in everyday life.
A total of 25 participants, including parents, teachers, students, SMC/SMDC members, Anganwadi workers, and other stakeholders, actively took part in the programme. The session focused on spreading awareness about autism, early identification, and the importance of inclusive education practices.
During the session, Mrs. N. Riya Nandan, PSRT, shared valuable insights on the theme “From Awareness to Acceptance: Embracing Every Mind,” stressing that “Autism is not a limitation, but a different way of experiencing the world. Every child deserves understanding, respect, and equal opportunities to grow and shine.”
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. N. Riya Nandan, PSRT, who expressed sincere gratitude to all participants, organizers, and contributors for making the event successful.
The event reaffirmed the commitment of the Block Project Office, Diglipur, towards strengthening Inclusive Education and building a compassionate and inclusive society where every individual is accepted and valued.
