
Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 30: Multiple community infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening public amenities and improving connectivity in rural areas were inaugurated on 29th March 2026 by Mr. Prakash Adhikari, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, in the presence of Mr. Bharat Sharma (Panchayat Samiti Member, Wandoor), Mr. Adhir Das (Pradhan, GP Wandoor), Mr. Uttam Kumar Roy (Up-Pradhan, GP Wandoor), Mr. Mohan Bala (Ward Member, Wandoor-02), Mr. Nirmal Sarkar (Panchayat Samiti Member, Guptapara), Mr. Durlab Das (Pradhan, GP Guptapara), and Mr. S. Trinadulu (Ward Member, Manglutan-II).
Newly Aimed at strengthening public amenities and improving connectivity in rural areas.
At Wandoor-02 the Renovated community hall, including a newly constructed Kitchen Shed and Store Room, was inaugurated. The upgraded facility is designed to support social, cultural, and community activities, providing residents with a well-equipped and functional space.
The foundation laying ceremony for a Bus Shelter with toilet facility at North commuters and Wandoor Junction was also conducted to improve convenience for residents.
Additionally, at Manglutan-I (Guptapara), a new black top road connecting the main road to the residences of Tapas Banik via Ravi Banik’s house was inaugurated. The project is expected to significantly improve connectivity and ease transportation for the local population.
Officials including engineering staff, Panchayat members, local representatives, and a large gathering of residents attended the programmes.
These initiatives reflect the continued commitment of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, toward strengthening grassroots infrastructure, improving public convenience, and enhancing the quality of life for local communities.
