
Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 25: The Deputy Education Office team, along with staff from Samagra Shiksha, conducted an official visit to GPS Gopal Nagar-II, located in a remote area of Diglipur.
The team, led by Deputy Education Officer Mrs. Sulochana, undertook a challenging journey to reach the school, travelling approximately one hour by road followed by nearly two hours by dengi (local boat), highlighting the geographical constraints faced by institutions in such outlying regions.
During the visit, Mrs. Sulochana, DEO interacted with the teachers and students, gaining insights into the academic environment, teaching practices, and student participation. The interaction was encouraging and reflected the commitment of the school staff despite logistical challenges.
The team also inspected the Mid-Day Meal programme and found the quality of food to be satisfactory. Emphasis was placed on maintaining hygiene and nutritional standards for the students.
The team further inspected the school toilets and the surrounding cleanliness, and observed that the sanitation and hygiene conditions were satisfactory.
The Deputy Education Officer further engaged with the local community, attentively hearing their concerns related to the school’s functioning and development, and assured that appropriate steps would be taken to address the issues raised.
Overall, the visit was successful and productive, reaffirming the department’s commitment to improving educational facilities and ensuring quality education even in the most remote parts of the region.
