Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 22: Rakeshwar Lall, State President of Hindu Rashtra Shakti (HRS), has urged the Andaman and Nicobar Administration to take immediate action on issues related to traffic regulation, public discipline during festivals, and availability of specialized medical facilities at GB Pant Hospital.
In a representation addressed to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Member of Parliament, Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, and Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, he highlighted the increasing violations of traffic rules across the islands. He pointed out that incidents of riding without helmets, triple riding, performing dangerous stunts, and playing loud music on public roads have become frequent, especially during festivals such as Holi, Eid, and marriage processions. He stressed the need for strict enforcement through challans, vehicle seizure, and increased deployment of traffic and police personnel to ensure public safety and order.
He further raised concern over the lack of adequate specialized doctors and timely treatment facilities at GB Pant Hospital, stating that patients requiring urgent and specialized care are facing serious inconvenience. He requested necessary directions to ensure the availability of specialist doctors and efficient medical services.
With the upcoming festival of Ram Navami falling on 26th March 2026, he emphasized the need for proper deployment of police, ambulance services, and other concerned agencies on the actual date to ensure smooth conduct of the celebrations. He also called for strict vigilance to maintain public discipline and prevent any untoward incidents during the occasion.
Rakeshwar Lall urged the authorities to take immediate cognizance of these issues and issue necessary directions to the concerned departments for effective implementation in the interest of public safety, convenience, and welfare.
