Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 19: Mr. Manojit Halder, Pradhan of GP Harinagar, met the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration today at 3.20 pm regarding the issue of dust pollution caused by the deplorable condition of NH4 road at Billyground Bazaar area, from Fish Market to Panchayat Bhawan, Harinagar.
The shopkeepers of Billyground Bazaar have been protesting and keeping their shops closed for the third consecutive day, demanding repair work on the road, causing hardship to the general public in meeting their day-to-day needs.
Mr. Manojit Halder, Pradhan of GP Harinagar informed Andaman Sheekha Daily that the Chief Secretary took immediate action, calling the DC N&M, Andaman, who informed that a meeting with NH4 officials had already taken place, and repair work would commence tomorrow morning, resolving the issue. The Pradhan requested the Chief Secretary to ensure the shops can reopen tomorrow, and he assured his support in addressing future concerns. The Pradhan expressed gratitude for the prompt action.
