
Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 18: One Stop Centre, Directorate of Social Welfare conducts Extensive Awareness and Cleanliness Activities during Swachhata Pakhwada. During Swachhata Pakhwada (1–15 March 2026), the One Stop Centre (OSC), Andaman & Nicobar Islands, conducted a series of awareness programmes and cleanliness drives across multiple locations to promote hygiene, sanitation, and community participation.
On 3rd March 2026, an awareness session was conducted at the Anganwadi Centre, Ranchi Basti, where the general public was educated about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in daily life.
On 5th March 2026, a cleanliness drive was organized at the Anganwadi Centre, Nayagaon, where participants actively cleaned public places and surrounding areas.
On 7th March 2026, a cleanliness activity was conducted at the Community Hall, Nayasahar, during which the premises and nearby surroundings were cleaned to ensure a hygienic environment.
On 9th March 2026, the OSC team, in collaboration with PBMC, carried out a cleanliness drive at Junglighat to promote a clean and healthy environment.
On 11th March 2026, at Thoratang Nallah under Swadeshnagar Gram Panchayat, an awareness programme was organized for women and adolescent girls, focusing on personal hygiene, menstrual hygiene management, sanitation practices, and the importance of maintaining cleanliness in daily life.
On 12th March 2026, an interaction session was held at the Community Hall, Calicut, where community members and the general public were sensitized about sanitation and proper waste management practices.
On 13th March 2026, a plantation drive along with a cleanliness activity was conducted at the Community Hall, Namunaghar, to promote a clean and green environment. On the same day, another awareness session was organized at Gandhi Nagar Gram Panchayat, where participants were educated on proper hand washing practices, the importance of using sanitary pads, and maintaining personal hygiene.
Through these activities, the One Stop Centre successfully raised awareness about cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation, while encouraging active community participation in maintaining a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment.
The Swatchata Pakhwada activities undertaken by the One Stop Centre, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, witnessed active participation from the community and stakeholders. These initiatives not only enhanced awareness regarding hygiene and sanitation but also reinforced the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring a cleaner, healthier and sustainable environment for all.
