
Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar. 11:The Andaman Nicobar Islands Rural Livelihood Mission (ANIRLM) under the aegis of Directorate of Rural Development celebrated International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm, recognizing the achievements of women entrepreneurs and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across the islands.
On the occasion, 16 nos. of “Lakhpati Didis” from all Blocks who have successfully crossed the annual income benchmark of Rs.1 lakh through sustained livelihood activities under Farm and Non-Farm initiatives were felicitated by the State Mission Director, ANIRLM.
Further, Hinengo yong nyio Self Help Group from Katchal engaged in non-farm livelihood activities was also felicitated for its outstanding performance and contribution to strengthening community-based enterprises by becoming Lakhpati Group.
While addressing the gathering, State Mission Director congratulated the women achievers and highlighted the important role played by SHG members in promoting financial independence, entrepreneurship, and community development in rural areas. He encouraged more women to take up income-generating activities and become role models within their communities.
The event celebrated the spirit of women’s empowerment and recognized the transformative impact of SHGs in improving livelihoods and fostering inclusive growth across the islands.
