Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 09: Two days HRD Programme on Integrated Pest Management in Vegetables crop was conducted on 06.03.26 & 07.03.26 by Central Integrated Pest Management Centre, Sri Vijaya Puram Under the Union Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers welfare, Govt. of india at Namu nagar, South Andaman. Total 26 farmers male – 09 and female -17 and 06 Officials from state Department and 06 Officials from CIPMC, participated in the programme.
Mr. V. Sivagnanam, PPO (E), CIPMC, Sri Vijaya Puramin his speech emphasized IPM techniques in Agriculture particularly in Vegetable cultivation, Ill effects of Pesticides on humans, Judicial use of Pesticides, how to control Pest and disease. Demonstrated different types of traps, Bio-agents and Bio- Pesticides and its usage.
Mr. Abishek Kumar, S.A, CIPMC, Sri Vijaya puram discussed seed treatment, Identification module in NPSS (National Pest Surveillance System) mobile App to the farmers. IPM literatures were also distributed to the farmers.
