
Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar. 1: The two-day workshop on ‘Science and Technology for a Greener Future’ conducted by Zoological Survey of India, A&N Regional Centre concluded yesterday. The programme included eight expert lectures along with sessions focused on skill development and capacity building. Total of 76 participants attended the workshop, including students and teachers from various schools and colleges, such as JNRM, Government Boys Senior Secondary School, Government Model Senior Secondary School, Kamaraj English Medium School, Sagritara School, TGCE, ANCOL, Andaman Law College, and Pondicherry University, besides trainees of the Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP).
Dr. Dinesh Kannan, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Department of Environment and Forests, A & N Islands, in his valedictory address said that such programmes not merely provide answers but also encourage participants to think critically and develop a deeper interest in scientific and environmental issues.
Dr. C. Sivaperuman, Scientist-F / Officer-in-Charge, ZSI, A&N Islands said the workshop, conducted over the last two days, featured eight expert lectures delivered by eminent scientists and academicians on diverse themes related to science and technology for a sustainable and greener future.
