Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 27: In commemoration of the discovery of the Raman Effect by C. V. Raman, National Science Day is celebrated across the country on Feb. 28 every year to promote scientific temper and to foster knowledge and awareness of science among the masses. The day serves as a tribute to the remarkable contribution of Indian scientists and aims to inspire students and the general public to develop curiosity and interest in scientific innovations & research. The theme of this year celebration is “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat.”
To mark this significant occasion in a befitting manner, the Science Centre, Sri Vijaya Puram, organized a series of educational and interactive programmes during the Science Week. A large number of students from different schools actively participated in the events, displaying enthusiasm, creativity, and scientific temperament.
To felicitate the winners, a valedictory function will be organized in the Auditorium of the Science Centre at 4 PM on Feb. 28.
