Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 22: Andaman Sangeet Academy (ASA) Junglighat, Sri Vijaya Puram, celebrated the of “27 International Mother Language Day” on 21 February 2026, Saturday. The programme has been arranged at Anant Vihar Colony, Teylrabad, Garacharma, Sri Vijaya Puram at 6pm. Mr. Tapas Kumar Das, President of Academy was the Chief Guest in this cultural programme. The Function was inaugurated with the floral tribute on the photo of Bhasha Sahid Smarak Mancha by the Gathering. Mrs. Namita Home Chowdhury, member of ASA welcomed the athering.
The members of the Academy (ASA) presented an inaugural song, ‘Aamar Bhaiyer Rakte Rangano 21 Shee February. Jeetesh Majhi, student of the academy, played the keyboard and performed an amazing song that will be remembered by the audience forever. Other students, Anurag Roy and Gourav Sarkar, enthralled the audience by playing Kaida, Rela, Tukras, etc. on solo tabla. After that, senior artists Mrs. Soma Ray, Mr. B. C. Naskar and Mr. Amit Kumar Ray presented solo songs in front of the gathering. Harmonium accompanied by Mr. Chinmoy Das and Tabla accompanied by Mr. Sounabh Home Chowdhury. The entire programme plucked tension drums accompanied by Mr. Samar Ray who came from Kolkata. The audience was mesmerized by the speech by the chief guest, Mr. Tapas Kumar Das.
The programme was concluded at 8pm with the vote of thanks by Mr. Soumen Home Chowdhury, the General Secretary of Andaman Sangeet Academy (ASA), Junglighat, Sri Vijaya Puram.
