Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 22: In view of the overwhelming response from tourists and islanders, the Directorate of Shipping Services has scheduled round cruises to Barren Island during the month of March 2026.
This exclusive cruise offers passengers a rare opportunity to witness the only active volcano in South Asia, along with the breathtaking scenic beauty of the Andaman Sea.

According to the official schedule, the voyage will be operated by the vessel MV Nalanda on March 13, 2026, with departure at 2100 hours, and again on March 27, 2026, with departure at 2100 hours.
Tickets can be booked through the DSS e-Ticketing Portal at https://dss.andamannicobar.gov.in/eticketing, which will be available 24×7 with effect from 24.01.2026 at 0900 Hrs onwards. For user convenience, a QR code linking directly to the portal has also been provided.
