Port Blair, May 15: The PCC Vice President Hamid Ali and District President SA, RV Reddy today met Mrs Prema Cariappa, the Chairperson, Central Social Welfare Board at Raj Niwas. Mr. Hamid Ali and Mr. Reddy thanked Madam Cariappa for selecting Andaman as the venue of National conference of the Chairpersons, of Social Welfare Board.
Hamid Ali has placed the demand of increasing the number of family counselling centres in AN Islands considering the rise in family dispute cases.
RV Reddy has demanded for increase of crèches throughout the islands. The delegation also demanded for granting excess fund to SWB for introducing and conducting various new awareness programmes etc and to consider enhancing honorarium to those workers who are engaged by SWB . Madam Cariappa gave patient hearing and assured to look into the matters.
