Chennai, May 15: U.S. Consulate General, Chennai is conducting an Online Photo Contest with the theme “Clean Earth, Clean Water” to celebrate International Environment Day (June 5, 2013) and International Oceans Day (June 8, 2013).
This contest will run from May 16 to June 12, 2013 and is open to all Indian nationals residing in the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, and the Union Territories of Lakshadweep Islands, Pondicherry, and the Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
All the entries will be posted in an album at the U.S. Consulate General Chennai’s Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/chennai.usconsulate. A panel of judges from the U.S. Consulate General, Chennai will judge the entries. The number of “Likes” for a given photo will also be considered by the panel of judges as well, but will not be the sole or deciding factor. The decision of the U.S. Consulate, General, Chennai will be final.
Following are the prizes:
• Grand Prize: An iPod Shuffle, and a One Year Free Membership to the American Library in Chennai
• First Prize: A T-Shirt, Outline Book Series, and a One Year Free Membership to the American Library in Chennai
• Second Prize: Coffee Mug, and a One Year Free Membership to the American Library in Chennai
• Third Prizes (5): A One Year Free Membership to the American Library in Chennai
Those interested in participating via twitter can also post images using the hashtag, #CECWphoto, with a caption on the U.S. Consulate General, Chennai Twitter handle @USAndChennai.
A contestant can submit a maximum of five photographs, but only one entry per each contestant will be considered for prizes. All photographs should be an original entry, include a caption, and not be more than 5MB in size. Please send your photographs to usconschennaiphotocontest@gmail.com.
