
Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec 16: The Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Shivapuram Mr. Venkateswar Rao along with Mr. R Madhavan, Up Adyaksh North and Middle Andaman , Mr. Bala Murugan Pradhan Gram Panchayat Parnashala, Mr. B. Ashok PRI member GP Shivapuram and Mr. K Raj Kumar Social worker Betapur met Dr Chandra Bhushan Kumar , IAS, Chief Secretary, A&N Administration on 15th December 2025 and brought to his kind notice regarding several demands of the general public and various issues faced by their respective Gram Panchayats.
The following key issues has been raised and requested the Chief Secretary for his kind intervention in the matters:
• Repair and maintenance of Rural Road from ATR towards newly constructed bridge Panchwati, Ward no. 02 under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana-II.
• Construction of New RCC Bridge at TV Kullam under Gram Panchayat Shivapuram.
• Construction of Wooden Bridge or Semi RCC Bridge from Panchawati Beach to small tappu to promote eco-tourism under Gram Panchayat Shivapuram.
And, further they also requested to release sufficient funds under MGNREGA Schemes in Middle and North Andaman.
The Pradhan Gram Panchayat Parnashala expressed his gratitude for taking necessary action on all the matters which were discussed in their last meeting with the Chief Secretary.
In the end, Mr. R Madhavan Up Adyaksh North and Middle Andaman pressed some issues faced by public of North and Middle Andaman and highlighted the following:
• Bad condition of the NH road.
• Conversion Islander Card into Smart Card, in this regarding he requested to rganize camps for updating old cards of the left-out Islanders and make a provision so that anyone can update his card from any part of these Islands.
• Development of 100 beded Girls Hostel at ANCOL College Sri Vijaya puram with introduce of New Courses.
The Chief Secretary informed that the National Highway is the main priority and speed of the work is highly progressive.
Further, the Chief Secretary has assured the efforts will be made to solve all the problems and informed that shortly he will be visiting North & Middle Andaman to review the progress of the works.
