Port Blair, May 15: The 24th National Conference of Confederation of Central Govt. Employees and Workers, New Delh, held at Kolkatta from 4th to 6th may, 2013. Hundreds of delegates representing 48 organizations of Central Govt. Employees and workers attended the meeting. The conference commenced on 4th May,2013 with flag hoisting by Com. S. K. Vyas, President of the Confederation. The open session held on same day was inaugurated by com. A.K. Padmanabhan, all India President, CITU. In his speech Com. Padmanabhan described the unity of trade unions on the issues of working class as a positive development.Com KKN.Kutty Secretary General presented the draft report on 5th May. 44 delegates took part in the discussion. 48 resolutions on various demands of Central Government employees were adopted by the meeting.The conference elected Com. S.K. Vyas as advisor, Com KKN Kutty as President and Com. M. Krishnan as Secretary General of the Confederation for the next 3 years . Four delegates from NGOs Association, A & N Islands attended the national Conference viz. Co. D.Ayyappan, Com S.C. Biswas, Com Ripa Biswas and Com. G.P. Mondal.
Meanwhile in a message sent to Shri M.Krishnan the NGOs Association A & N Islands congratulated him for his election as the new Secretary General of Confederation of Central Govt. employees and workers. In the message, Shri Sreekumar Assistant General Secretary of the Association, reminded him of various long pending demands of employees of UT Administration and requested him to pursue the issues for early settlement.
