Mayabunder, Nov 11: A delegation led by Mr. Abdul Siddique, Ex-Pramukh, met Mr. Sushant Padha (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman, today to discuss several pressing public issues and development needs concerning the people of Mayabunder. A memorandum highlighting these concerns was also submitted on behalf of the residents.
Mr. Madhavan, Up-Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, North & Middle Andaman, attended the meeting and extended full support for the development of the playground land at Pokadera. He also raised the issue of developing Baludera Beach in the same area.
The key issues discussed included the withdrawal of M.V. Nalanda and M.V. Sindhu services to Mayabunder and Diglipur, non-availability of a mortuary van since the COVID period, and improvement of BSNL network inside Dr. R.P. Hospital. The delegation also urged the renovation of the mortuary building, development of the Pokadera playground, widening of Neemtala shortcut road, and regular supply of LPG cylinders to Pokadera, Mayabunder, and Rampur Panchayats.
Mr. Siddique drew the Deputy Commissioner’s attention to the difficulties faced by the people and requested immediate intervention for necessary action. He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for his valuable time and patient hearing.
