Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 10: The Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Mr. Prakash Adhikari along with the EE, ZPSA and other engineering officials undertook an official visit to Swaraj Dweep on Saturday 8th Nov. 2025, to review the ongoing developmental works and assess the implementation of various schemes under the Zilla Parishad.
During the visit, the Adhyaksh inspected key infrastructure projects, including roads and community facilities being executed under the Zilla Parishad sector. He emphasized the importance of timely completion of projects and adherence to quality standards.
During the tour, he interacted with local PRI members, representatives of various developmental departments, and residents at the Panchayat at GP Govind Nagar to understand their concerns and gather feedback on issues related to civic amenities and public service delivery.
Several issues concerning the island were discussed, including the improvement of road infrastructure, widening of the road near the jetty to ease traffic congestion in the area, construction of waiting sheds in front of the PHC and the School at Govind Nagar, revival of the non-functional water project of ZPSA etc. The Adhyaksh assured the participants that these matters would be duly examined and taken up with the departments concerned of the Administration for necessary action.
The visit reflects the continued commitment of the Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, towards ensuring equitable development and improved service delivery in the island.
