Port Blair, May 05: A delegation from the Port Workers Union (CITU) Met the Chief Port Administrator, Port Management Board, Port Blair on 30th April, 2013 and discussed with him various issues and demands of workers working in the Shipping Section of the Port Management Board. The CPA has reportedly assured the delegation that immediate steps will be taken to fill up all the vacant posts in a time-bound manner. He has also reportedly assured the delegation of the Union that financial up gradation under the MACP Scheme to the eligible workers and employees will be granted within a period of one month. “The CPA has also assured the Union that liveries to the eligible were also discussed in the meeting. The delegation of the Union comprised B. Chandrachoodan, President, Shri S. Chinnaih, Shri L. Ganga Rao,” a CITU release said here.
