Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 02: In connection with the conduct of Inter-State Mock exercise on earthquake and tsunami on 04.11.2025 from 0800-1600 hrs in A&N Island organised by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and A&N Administration in collaboration with INCOIS, a training programme to strengthen the functioning and works of State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) was imparted on 01.112025 in the Aapda Prabhandan Bawan. Three teams for 24 x 7 deployed in the SEOC were trained officials from various departments (Industries, Education, APWD, IT, Economies & Statistics, PMB) were imparted training.
The training was provided in the Aapda Prabandhan Bhawan that encompasses SEOC, other Control Rooms of ERSS (112)/Police Control Room, SVPMC, Transport and Electricity/Power. These are planned to be assimilated into Integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC) which is being setup in Aapda Prabandhan Bhawan, Link Road, Goalghar, Sri Vijaya Puram.
Comdt. Aditya Kumar (Retd.), Mock Exercise Coordinator, NDMA, New Delhi imparted training about Structure, Role, and Functioning of SEOC, SOPs for Message Handling and Logging in SEOC, Documentation and Record-Keeping during Emergencies etc. Ms. Purva Garg, IAS, Secretary (Disaster Management), A & N Administration reviewed the preparedness of the SEOC. There was an interaction with the Officials and asked about their preparedness. Mr. Janik Ram, Assistant Director (Admn.), DDM also explained in details about the pre-designated roles and responsibilities in the SEOC to ensure effective coordination and response during the exercise.
