
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 12: A cleanliness drive was conducted recently at Wandoor Beach (Ayush Gram) to spread awareness on the importance of maintaining cleanliness in and around public places, particularly eco-sensitive and tourist locations like Wandoor Beach, which is known for its scenic beauty and biodiversity. The programme was organized by the AYUSH Wing of the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), A&N Administration, in collaboration with the Gram Panchayat, Wandoor as part of the observance of the 10th Ayurveda Day celebrations and the nationwide Swachh Bharat Mission.
Inaugurating the drive, Mr. Adhir Das, Pradhan, GP Wandoor appreciated the collective efforts of AYUSH officials, local residents, and Panchayat members towards keeping the environment clean and emphasized that community participation is the key to the success of cleanliness campaigns and urged everyone to adopt cleanliness as a daily habit rather than a one-day activity. Dr. Suryakant Singh, Medical Officer (Ayurveda), AYUSH Hospital, Junglighat, along with the hospital staff, led the AYUSH team in the drive. The staff members actively participated in cleaning the beach area, collecting plastic waste, debris, and other litter from the shoreline.
