Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 10: To mark World Sight Day 2025, a School Level Eye Screening Camp was organized on 9th October 2025 at GSS VK Pur under the Inclusive Education Programme. The camp aimed to identify and treat refractive errors and other eye-related problems among students and teachers.
The event began with a warm welcome by Mr. Manotosh Roy, GSS VK Pur. Mrs. Shiny, Ophthalmologist, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Miss Sagarika Mistry, Health Educator, and Mrs. Laxmi, Community Health Officer (CHO) from Sub Centre VK Pur, delivered an informative speech on the importance of eye care and regular eye check-ups.
Mrs. M Vijayalakshmi, Program Coordinator and Special Educator, who ensured the smooth conduct of the screening process, efficiently coordinated the program. The camp successfully screened a total of 153 students, identifying one student with an eye injury who was referred for follow-up treatment. A large number of students and teachers benefited from the camp, which successfully spread awareness about eye health and the significance of early detection of vision problems.
