On the occasion of World Tourism Day 2025, I extend my warmest greetings to the people of the A & N Islands and to all who cherish the pristine beauty of our remarkable archipelago.
This day reminds us of the profound role tourism plays in fostering global connections, nurturing cross cultural understanding and advancing sustainable practices. The theme for this year, “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation”, underscores the power of tourism to drive positive change-not only for the industry but also for our environment and local communities.
The UT Administration has long recognized tourism as a key driver of holistic development for the Islands. Blessed with pristine beaches, lush forests, vibrant coral reefs and world class water sports, the A&N Islands remain a destination of choice for visitors from across the globe. Guided by the Islands Development Agency (IDA), we are committed to promoting tourism that upholds ecological sustainability, generates opportunities for local youth and contributes meaningfully to the vision of an ‘Atmanirbhar’ and ‘Viksit Bharat’.
As we mark this occasion, let us reaffirm our collective resolve to build a tourism sector that is sustainable, inclusive and future-ready. Together, we can establish the A&N Islands as a model of responsible tourism-where every guest is welcomed with warmth and every visitor carries home cherished memories along with a deeper appreciation of nature and humanity.
May the timeless spirit of ‘Athithi Devo Bhava’ continue to inspire our efforts in shaping tourism that is both transformative and enduring.
