Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 24: A farm visit to Poultry Farm, LFC, Dollygunj was organised in today’s session of farm school on broiler production under UT ATMA. The Up Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Shri. Bhoominathan graced the occasion as the chief guest in the presence of the Zonal Officer, South Andaman, Dr. Sunita Roy and SVO, GPF, Dollygunj, Dr. Satish kumar and Samiti Member, Ms. Pachiammal. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest appreciated the effort by SVO, VD Rangachang and encouraged the farmers to take up animal husbandry for income generation.
The Zonal Officer, Dr. Sunita urged participants to fully engage with the training to derive maximum benefit while Samiti Member urged farmers to adopt poultry production for livelihood.
Earlier, Dr. Sathish, SVO welcomed the gathering while the vote of thanks was proposed by Ms.Baby , ATMA functionary. Biosecurity, foot bath etc were explained. Handling of birds, the procedure of debeaking, deworming and dipping of birds were demonstrated to the candidates.
Later the candidates visited different units of the Cattle Holding Unit. Dr. Subash Palve briefed about the good management practices of cattle, goats and pigs.
