Diglipur, Sept. 24: A Learning Teaching Material (LTM) Library for children with special needs was inaugurated today at the Block Level Resource Room, Government Senior Secondary School, Diglipur, under Inclusive Education initiative of the Samagra Shiksha programme. The initiative is aimed at providing accessible teaching-learning materials and assistive devices to children with special needs (CwSN).
The inauguration was attended by Shri M. Rajendra, Block Development Officer, Diglipur, as chief guest, along with Smti. Indira Devi, Child Development Officer Diglipur, and Shri P. R. Singaram, Pradhan of Subhashgram Panchayat, as guests of honour. Speakers underlined the importance of inclusive facilities in ensuring holistic development of children. The library will allow students to borrow devices for use both in classrooms and at home, encouraging independent learning and continual skill development.
The Block Project Officer, Smt. Sulochana informed that the library is not only for parents; but teachers from all schools can also come and borrow materials from this library for the welfare of the children.
