Sri Vijaya Puram, Sep 22: The Directorate of Social Welfare, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, in collaboration WITH YOU (NGO), has launched a Toy Donation Drive under the theme “Donate Toys, Spread Joy”. The initiative aims to enrich Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) activities at Anganwadi Centres throughout this UT to enhance the learning outcomes of children.
Director Social Welfare as a Chief Guest highlighted the significance of the initiative and emphasized that the first 1000 golden days of a child’s life are crucial for physical, cognitive, and emotional development. He appealed to individuals, families, and institutions to participate wholeheartedly by donating safe and good-quality toys that can aid in playful learning. This drive is also in alignment with the national vision of “Poshan bhi, adhaib hi”, ensuring that children not only receive proper nutrition but also the right stimulation for holistic growth.
The toys can be dropped between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM at all Anganwadi Centres, Zilla Parishad Office in all three Districs Sri Vijaya Puram, CDPO Office, and “WITH YOU” NGO Office at Bambooflat. This drive seeks to turn unused toys into treasured smiles and bring immense happiness to children in need. Parents expressed their happiness at the launch of such a wonderful drive. The Toy Donation Drive is being coordinated by Miss V.K. Mariam Bibi, President of WITH YOU NGO, along with her team.
