Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 14:In line with the schedule of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), the High Court Legal Services Committee (HCLSC), Circuit Bench of Calcutta High Court at Port Blair, in association with the Andaman and Nicobar State Legal Services Authority, successfully conducted the 3rd National Lok Adalat today at the Circuit Bench Complex.
The Lok Adalat Bench was headed by the Hon’ble Justice Shampa Sarkar, Judge, High Court at Calcutta and Hon’ble Chairperson, High Court Legal Services Committee (through virtual mode). The Lordship was assisted by Mr. V.D. Sivabalan, Learned Advocate, as Member of the Bench.
A total of eleven matters were taken up, out of which two were successfully disposed of by the HCLSC.
This event marks yet another step forward in promoting alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and ensuring access to justice for all, especially in the remote regions of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
