Sri Vijayapuram, Sept 12: In a significant milestone, the Additional District Magistrate Mayabunder , Mr. Sushant Pada , IAS, on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner N&M today laid the foundation stones for “Rapid EIA study and obtaining of forest clearence for Construction of Road from Bajota to Hanspuri village and Augmentation of Water Supply from Hathi Gudda to Chainpur , under Chainpur Gram Panchayat marking a major breakthrough for the remote village. The ceremony was held by APWD at Chainpur Gram Panchayat in presence of AC (HQ), DFO , EE (APWD), Local Head of Departments , Pradhan , PRI members and villagers including the AE and others staff of APWD.
The road and water supply projects , which have been a long-standing demand of the villagers, has finally gained momentum with the start of Rapid EIA study for obtaining forest clearance . This development has brought a ray of hope for the villagers, who have been facing immense difficulties due to the lack of connectivity and water scarcity .
The ADM reiterated the administration’s commitment to developing infrastructure in remote areas . “We are dedicated to improving the lives of our citizens, and these projects are a testament to that commitment. The efforts of our former and present Deputy Commissioners and the engineers of APWD can never be forgotten in making these projects a reality .We will work tirelessly to ensure the timely completion of this projects.”
Mr. Johnson Kerketta, Pradhan, Chainpur Gram Panchayat, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the administration and the Andaman Public Works Department for taking up these projects. “We are thankful to the present and former Deputy Commissioners and the APWD for their efforts in commencing the process of obtaining the forest clearance for construction of Bajota to Hanspuri road and Hathi Gudda water supply . This road will be a game-changer for Hanspuri village, and we look forward to its completion,” he said.
The Assistant Engineer, APWD , Mr. Abdul Mubeen presented the scope and timeline for both the projects in front of the gathering .
The ceremony marks the beginning of a new era for the villagers of Hanspuri and Chainpur who can now look forward to better connectivity, improved access to amenities, and a brighter future.
