Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 01:In a major relief to the residents of Kadamtala village, a 1000 KVA DG set is being installed at the local powerhouse, far exceeding the area’s current power demand of around 600 KVA. Sources said that the installation work is in progress and the set will be operational soon, bringing joy to the villagers who had long been demanding an 800 KVA capacity.
The matter was actively raised during the District Planning Committee (DPC) meeting by Zilla Parishad member Mr. Subrata Basu, after which the Superintendent Engineer of the Electricity Department visited the powerhouse to assess the requirements. Mr. Basu expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for approving and facilitating the upgrade.
Sources indicate that another DG set may also be installed nearby, further strengthening the area’s power infrastructure.
A few weeks ago, residents of Uttara village in Kadamtala had staged a protest demanding improved electricity facilities. However, as per sources before the protest a large portion of the DG set had already reached Kadamtala. The current development is seen as a positive step towards addressing these concerns and ensuring reliable power supply to the region.
