Swaraj Dweep, July 31:The valedictory function of the 76th Van Mahotsav–2025 observance by Swaraj Dweep Forest Division was held today at Community Hall, Shyamnagar, Swaraj Dweep. The chief guest, Shri Feroz Alam, SDPO Swaraj Dweep, graced the occasion alongwith PRI members, Heads of Offices from various Departments, school teachers, and students from multiple institutions. A total of 100 participants attended the function.
Following the ceremony, the chief guest and others took part in a fruit-bearing tree plantation drive, symbolizing the culmination of the month-long celebration. Throughout the Van Mahotsav, an impressive 10,300 seedlings were planted across the campuses of various Departments, including reserve forest areas, with active participation from departmental staff and enthusiastic school children.
Various competitions were organized to celebrate 76th Van Mahotsav at various schools and prizes along with certificates were awarded to the winning participants by the chief GUEST and others present on the occasion.
In his address, the chief guest commended the Forest Department for its extensive tree plantation efforts across Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep. He emphasized the shared responsibility of every citizen to not only plant trees but also safeguard them for a greener future and cleaner environment.
