Diglipur, July 30: The Zilla Parishad Member, Radhanagar Constituency of Diglipur Tehsil Shri Mahadev Gain has highlighted the problems of the residents of his constituency owing to extremely weak signal of BSNL in the area.
According to information, the residents of three localities: (1) Gopal Tikrey, Ward No. 01, Radhanagar (2) Shyamnagar Ward No. 02 (Hathilevel) under Review village, and (3) Shyamnagar Ward No. 02 (Jaltikrey) under my Constituency (Radhanagar, Diglipur) are reportedly facing severe difficulties owing to weak signal of BSNL in the area. Sometimes there exists no signal at all and hence residents of these localities are put into an awkward situation, especially in medical emergencies, the ZPM said.
Speaking to Andaman Sheekha Daily, Mr. Gain said that since the school students now heavily depend on online education, BSNL’s weak signal or no-signal at all at times reportedly poses as a terrible blow to their education. Anganwadi Centers in the areas also allegedly get affected as they can’t communicate and submit their report in time; while schools, Forest Camps, Look Out Post (LOPs) in the areas are also reportedly affected in the similar fashion, the ZPM further decried. BSNL’s weak signal or no-signal at all also put the fishermen in distress, Mr. Mahadev Gain said. “The scenario has to change and we need to take necessary initiatives to do away with this problem being faced by residents of this area” the ZPM maintained.
Raising the problems of the residents, Mr. Gain said that the villagers of this locality now demand that the BSNL provides its uninterrupted service by erecting towers in the suitable locations in the localities. “In fact, I vouch for their inconveniences owing to non-availability of BSNL service, and also endorse their demand of establishing the towers by BSNL in the aforesaid locations of the area mentioned above to provide its service so that they may avail the service and get benefitted. In fact, the students will be much benefitted and the hurdles in medical emergencies may also be tackled”, he told ASD.
Shri Mahadev Gain has reportedly written a letter addressed to the Chief General Manager, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Sri Vijaya Puram and apprised her of the inconveniences of the residents of the area owing to extremely weak signal of BSNL in the region and urged the CGM, BSNL for erecting BSNL Towers for which there are enough spaces that can be reportedly spared for setting up the BSNL’s towers in the suitable locations in the localities, the ZPM further added.
