Sri Vijaya Puram, July 23: Under the auspices of the Harinagar Gram Panchayat, several significant initiatives have been undertaken as part of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme. The primary objectives of these schemes are to generate employment opportunities while simultaneously encouraging marginal farmers to adopt horticulture plantation practices, which have demonstrably contributed to their financial advancement.
On Wednesday, an on-site inspection of the ongoing MGNREGA projects was conducted by distinguished administrative officials to assess the progress and efficacy of the work being carried out. The inspection on this date was attended by: Miss Tripti Kalhans, IAS (Probationer ),Mr. Josheph, Block Development Officer, Mayabunder, Mr. Manojit Halder, Pradhan, GP Harinagar, Assistant Engineers from MGNREGA, Mayabunder.
The officials visited the ongoing block plantation of horticulture trees in the field of Kalidasi Mondal at Harinagar -6. This particular initiative, which has an estimated cost of ₹1.93 Lakhs, is anticipated to generate 558 mandays of employment for the rural populace of the area.
Following this, the team also inspected a completed project under MGNREGA, specifically the construction of an open grey water drain near the house of Babu Mondal, which connects to the existing Nallah at Harinagar -4.
During the visit, Miss Tripti Kalhans expressed her appreciation for the quality of workmanship upheld in the ongoing and completed projects under MGNREGA, emphasizing the positive impact these initiatives have on the local community and environment. Her commendation highlights the commitment to maintaining high standards in rural development projects.
