Sri Vijaya Puram, July 13: In a field operation carried out today, the Revenue Department reclaimed a patch of government land at Attam Pahar, Garacharama that had been recently encroached upon. The site was found to be occupied through makeshift fencing and temporary structures that had come up over the past few days.
Upon receiving reports from field functionaries, a team led by revenue officials along with ground staff and police presence moved to the location with Earth-moving machinery including a Hitachi unit, which was deployed to assist in the clearance. The temporary encroachments were swiftly dismantled and the area measuring approximately 700 sq. mtrs was restored to its original status under government ownership.
This action forms part of the District Administration’s continuous effort to monitor, protect and preserve government lands across the District. The District Administration has reiterated its appeal to the public not to indulge in any form of land grabbing or unauthorized occupation. People are also encouraged to report suspicious activities or fresh encroachments to the nearest revenue office. Regular inspections and follow-up actions will continue in the weeks ahead.
