Sri Vijaya Puram, July 8:Congress MP and AICC in-charge for Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Manickam Tagore, has announced that the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) in the Islands will soon undergo a comprehensive reorganization in preparation for the upcoming Panchayat and Municipal elections.
Addressing a press conference in Sri Vijaya Puram, Mr. Tagore said that consultations with party workers, PCC President Mr. Rangalal Halder, Campaign Committee Chairman, and other senior leaders have been completed, and the party is now poised to restructure its state committee and organizational units.
“We are revamping the state committee and other organizational wings to ensure the party is fully prepared for the local body elections. This includes appointment of new office bearers and formation of a regular Pradesh Congress Committee,” he stated.
He further added that the current PCC president has completed four years in office and that the new committee proposal is awaited. Once submitted, the All India Congress Committee will finalize appointments in consultation with the Congress President.
Mr. Rangalal Halder was appointed President of the Andaman and Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) on August 6, 2021, and assumed office on August 20, 2021. Since then, he has actively led the party’s organizational strengthening, especially at the grassroots level.
