Sri Vijaya Puram, June 24:Yoga session was organized by the Women and Child Development Control Room (Women Helpline-181 and Child Helpline 1098) under the Directorate of Social Welfare on the occasion of International Day of Yoga to promote physical well-being and mental health among staff and beneficiaries of 3-6 years children, adolescent, women and pregnant women.
The objective of the session is to promote awareness of health and fitness through Yoga and encourage WCD staff and the participants to adopt a healthy lifestyle. The activities include Breathing Exercise, Basic Yoga Asanas, Meditation Session and Short talk on benefits of Yoga. The session was well-received by all participants.
Ms. Sushma Lakra, Yoga Experts, AYUSH Hospital has demonstrated and instructed proper techniques for Asanas (Postures), Pranayama (Breathing Techniques) and ensured correct alignment, safety and individualized modification to suit all age group. The yoga session was conducted for a period 5 days w.e.f 17th to 21st June, 2025 in various places with active participation of staff, community members, Anganwadi Workers and Social Workers.
