Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 30: After the resounding success of its first edition, the Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA) organized the second edition of “Checkmate on Streets” Chess for everyone street chess event at Bambooflat Jetty, responding to public demand for more such engaging chess events.
The event was officially inaugurated by Mr. K Bala Krishana, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Bambooflat who made the ceremonial first move on the chess board in the presence of Mr. M K Sudharam , Ex-Zill Paridshad Member to kick start the event.
Chess enthusiasts of all ages gathered at the bustling jetty, which transformed into a dynamic open-air arena. The event showcased bold strategies, sharp tactics, and creative gameplay while fostering community spirit and celebrating the game.
As a gesture of appreciation, all participants were felicitated with gifts, acknowledging their passion and sportsmanship. The event successfully fostered camaraderie among chess lovers while highlighting game’s ability to bring people together across generations.
ANCA extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants, supporters, and chess lovers for making the second edition of “Checkmate on Streets” a grand success. The next edition will take place on April 5, 2025, at Chouldhari Junction, promising yet another exciting evening of street chess.
