Port Blair, March 18 : The residents of several pockets in Kanyapuram village, South Andaman, are facing severe distress due to the supply of dirty and muddy water through pipelines. Despite repeated complaints, no action has been taken to resolve the issue, leaving villagers frustrated and agitated.
Mr. Abdul Basheer, Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Kanyapuram, has raised serious concerns over the poor quality of water being supplied to the area. Speaking to Andaman Sheekha, he stated that the water is so contaminated that it is not even fit for cattle consumption, let alone for human use.
He further informed that several complaints have been lodged with the concerned authorities, but no steps have been taken so far to address the problem. The lack of response has angered villagers, who are now demanding immediate action from the administration to ensure safe and clean drinking water.
The residents of Kanyapuram urge the authorities to intervene without delay, as the continued supply of unclean water poses serious health risks. The issue highlights the urgent need for better infrastructure and prompt redressal mechanisms to safeguard public health.
