On this International Women’s Day, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all the mothers and sisters of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Today is a day of celebration, reflection, and commitment—a day to honour the strength, resilience, and achievements of women in every sphere of life.
Women have always been the backbone of our society, shaping our families, communities, and the nation with their dedication, hard work and perseverance. From being caregivers to changemakers, entrepreneurs to craftswomen, educators to warriors, their contributions are immeasurable.
In our Islands, we have witnessed remarkable women who have broken barriers, led with courage, and inspired generations by achieving highest positions in national and international levels in various fields like sports, education, public administration (IAS), and two of our women have been awarded with the prestigious Padma Shri, one of the highest civilian award of our nation. All these women have made our Islands proud.
As we celebrate this day, let us remember that true empowerment comes not just from recognition but from action. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that every girl gets access to quality education, every woman gets equal opportunities, and every mother, daughter, and sister feels safe and valued in our society.
On this special occasion, I pledge my continued support toward women’s empowerment, gender equality, and a society where every woman can thrive without barriers. Let us work together to create an environment where women are not just celebrated for a day but respected, uplifted, and given equal opportunities every single day of the year.
Wishing you all a very Happy International Women’s Day!
With Regards,
