Sri VijayaPuram, Mar 07: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President Mr.RangalalHalder has formally addressed the Chief Secretary of the A & N Administration, highlighting the urgent need for the installation of advanced solar-powered street lights at Harminder Bay, Little Andaman.
In his letter, Mr.Halder emphasized that the lack of proper street lighting has been a long-standing concern for the residents, significantly affecting public safety and mobility during nighttime. The absence of illumination not only poses a risk to pedestrians and commuters but also increases the likelihood of unlawful activities in the area.
Given the abundant availability of solar energy in the region, Mr.Halder has urged the administration to consider solar-powered street lights as a sustainable, efficient, and cost-effective alternative to conventional electricity.
Furthermore, Mr.Halder requested the immediate evaluation of this proposal, including a site inspection and necessary approvals, to facilitate the early implementation of the project for the benefit of the local peoples.
