Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar. 6:Off-Site Emergency Response Drill on Fire Incident was conducted at Haddo Wharf today by the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Haddo, Sri Vijaya Puram in coordination with the Directorate of Disaster Management by creating real time fire simulation scenarios. This drill tested response of IOCL Team and Emergency Support Functionaries (ESFs) of A&N Police, NDRF, CISF, A&N Fire & Emergency Services, Directorate of Health Services and PMB to quick extinguish the fire, if occurs in the site.
Immediately on receipt of information of fire incident, the IOCL triggered their response mechanism to tackle the emergency fire situation at Haddo Wharf near Manifold and informed the same to ERSS, SEOC, Fire & Health Control Rooms etc. Meanwhile, the staff and team of IOCL were activated to douse the fire. The Fire Tenders reached the incident spot with fire teams to control the fire situation. Ambulance also shifted injured persons to the hospital.
The Mock Drill was called off at 1145 hrs and was followed by a debriefing session, during which the observers explained the findings and gaps of the mock drill. The Police, Fire, Health, NDRF, CISF and Disaster Management Officers urged to provide regular trainings to the teams of IOCL on safety measures to cope with any crisis in near future.
