Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 05: In a swift and well-coordinated operation, on 02/03/2025 PS Billiground successfully intercepted a major illegal drug transaction, seizing a substantial quantity of ganja and arrested the accused.
Under the leadership of Mr. Chandan G.S., DANIPS, SDPO Rangat, a specialized team was swiftly constituted to act on intelligence regarding an illegal drug transaction. The team, led by SI M.V. Shiju Kumar, SHO PS Billiground, included HC P.K. Kindo, PCs Mohd. Mustafa, Abhijeet, Narayan, Sujan Gharami, and Sony Kumari, along with two independent witnesses.
Acting on a tip-off that an individual namely Prodeep Bepari was in possession of a large quantity of illicit ganja and actively seeking buyers, the team moved swiftly. Upon reaching the location, they intercepted the accused and conducted a thorough search, leading to the recovery of 10.493 kg of illicit ganja from the possession of Prodeep Bepari (42) yrs R/o Ramnagar, Kalighat. He was subsequently arrested, and a case was registered at PS Billiground under relevant sections of NDPS Act. This swift and coordinated operation underscores our firm commitment to combating drug trafficking and maintaining a drug-free society.
The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Chandan G.S DANIPS, SDPO Rangat and overall direction and supervision of Ms. Shweta K. Sugathan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District.
