Ten-Day Book Fair to Promote Reading Culture Opens at ITF Ground, Sri Vijaya Puram

Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar. 4: The Art & Culture Department, A&N Administration, in association with the National Book Trust (NBT), will be organizing a grand ten-day Book Fair, to be held at the sprawling ITF Ground at Sri Vijaya Puram, from April 1 to 10, 2025. This event aims to foster a love for reading and promote literary culture amongst the people, especially students of these Islands. This Book Fair would not only benefit readers of all ages but also serve as an opportunity for publishing houses and authors to connect with the public. The Book Fair will remain open from 11 AM to 9 PM.
The fair will feature 40 stalls displaying books from different publishers from mainland India, offering a diverse collection of genres and authors. Renowned authors from the mainland will participate in this mega event, engaging with participants through book signings, interactive sessions, and more.
In addition to the book-related activities, cultural programs will be organized in the evening hours, adding a festive atmosphere to the event. This book fair will provide an excellent opportunity for people to browse through a wide variety of books and purchase them directly from the stalls.
In this connection, the Deputy Director, National Book Trust (NBT), Shri Mayank Surolia visited Sri Vijaya Puram today. He inspected the venue and held discussion with the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration and other senior officers for successful conduct of the event. NBT is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Established in 1957, NBT’s primary objective is to promote the reading habit and create a literate society through the publication and distribution of quality books.
