Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar. 3: As part of Swachhata Green Leaf Rating System (GLRS), Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council (SVPMC) will be conducting the assessment of hotels, resorts, homestays, and hospitality units within urban limits. This initiative promotes sanitation, waste management, and awareness, aligning with the Swachh Bharat Mission and Travel for LiFE Campaign by the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation and Ministry of Tourism.
The GLRS assessment will be conducted in three stages, Orientation on 5th March, 2025 at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Auditorium, A/Bazaar, Self-assessment by hotels (Scan QR Code or visit SVPMC website) and On-field verification starting 8th March, 2025 through surprise inspections by SVPMC teams.
Hotels will be rated from 1 Leaf, 03 & 05 Leaves, based on sanitation and waste management performances, with transparent evaluation and results made available on request once declaration of results. Hospitality units are urged to actively participate and contribute to making Sri Vijaya Puram a cleaner, sustainable tourist destination.
