
Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 19: A major fire mishap was averted in the city thanks to the timely intervention and prompt action of the brave firefighters from A&N Fire and Emergency Services. On February 18, 2025, at 2203 hours, a fire call was received from a local residence, stating that a fire had broken out in a residential house belonging to Mr. Adarsh Govind at Bhigge Line near Bengali Club, Sri Vijaya Puram and had already spread to the entire first floor. Fire tenders from Fire Station Aberdeen were immediately pressed into action. Upon arrival, firefighters were met with a huge blaze emanating from the residential house.
The A&N Fire and Emergency Services personnel demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork in managing the challenging situation. Their quick response, expertise in firefighting, and professionalism ensured that the fire was controlled effectively, preventing a potentially catastrophic outcome.
The firefighting operation, which lasted over an hour, utilized:
– 6 Water Tenders
– 1 Foam Tender
– 1 Water Bouzer
– 1 Water Mist
The successful operation was carried out by the staff of Fire Station Aberdeen, Marine, Haddo, Chatham, and Garacharma, led by Inspector Fire Service (HQ) R.K. Singh, under the overall supervision of Ms. Yogita Sharma, Deputy Superintendent of Police (F&ES) and Ms. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police (Fire), A&N Islands.
