Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 16: A Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was successfully organized on 15th February 2025 at Maharashtra Mandal Auditorium, Sri Vijaya Puram, in association with Andaman Mahila Mandal and supported by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Sri Vijaya Puram. The camp witnessed 35 donors stepping forward, resulting in the collection of 22 units of blood for patients in need.
Mr. Devdas Paik, Senior Scientist, ISRO, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the importance of regular blood donation and how the youth can play a crucial role in meeting this demand. He also expressed gratitude to all the donors and organizing agencies for their commendable efforts.
Dr. Shilpa, Blood Bank Incharge, briefed the participants on the benefits of blood donation, motivating the youth to actively contribute towards this life-saving cause. Mr. Gopal Ch. Biswas from Nehru Yuva Kendra also encouraged youth participation, while Dr. Nipendra Narayan Singh compared the camp to a “Rakt Kumbh Seva”, highlighting its significance in saving lives.

Earlier, Mrs. Pramila Kumari, President, Andaman Mahila Mandal, welcomed the participants and spoke about the ongoing blood crisis and the need for continuous efforts to address the demand. Mr. Gorakhnath Patil, President, Maharashtra Mandal, proposed the vote of thanks, appreciating the invaluable contributions of all stakeholders. Dr. Sunita Patil, Secretary, Andaman Mahila Mandal, efficiently coordinated the program.
This successful camp reinforced the importance of voluntary blood donation and showcased the power of collective community efforts in ensuring a steady blood supply for those in need.
