Annual Botanical Forum Festival ‘Floristic 2025’ Organized at JNRM

Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 14: A three-day Annual Botanical Forum Festival, Floristic ‘25, was organized from 12th to 14th Feb 2025 by the Postgraduate Department of Botany, JNRM. On 12th and 13th Feb, several competitive events like nature photography, floral art, microbiome food festival, pottery painting, quiz competition etc. were held. These events attracted a large number of participants from various departments of the college. Dr. Kalyan P Kadbhane, Director, Ayush Hospital, inaugurated these events. On this occasion, the wall magazine ‘Daffodils’ was unveiled by Pearl Devdas, Principal, JNRM.
During the lecture sessions held on Feb 14th, the chief guest, Dr. E.B. Chakurkar, Director, ICAR-CIARI encouraged and motivated the students to effectively apply the knowledge they had acquired during their studies. He emphasized the importance of utilizing this knowledge in the best possible manner to achieve excellence and reach their full potential. The event was addressed by various guests. Pearl Devdas, Principal JNRM emphasized the importance of hard work and urged students to chase their dreams relentlessly. Dr. S. Jayakumar, Principal ANCOL highlighted the significance of focus and sincerity in achieving one’s goals. Mr. Sanjib Kumar Roy, Editor Andaman Sheekha shared personal experiences from his life and encouraged students to overcome challenges with determination.
On this occasion, the e-magazine ‘Daffodils’ was also released featuring thought-provoking articles and highlighting the vibrant activities of the department. Earlier welcoming the gathering, Dr Dipon Sharmah, HOD Botany Department spoke about the importance of appreciating our rich biodiversity and working towards its conservation. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners of various competitive events. More than 200 students along with faculty members of the college attended the program.
The vote of thanks was proposed by KV Sheresha of M.Sc. first year. The entire program was compared by Smriti Mishra and Shareen Shahid of M.Sc. final year.
