On the occasion of Foundation Day of Manipur, Meghalaya, and Tripura, I extend my heartfelt greetings to the people of these culturally rich and vibrant States on 21st January, 2025.
This day marks the historic moment in 1972 when these regions achieved full statehood under the North Eastern Region (Re-organization) Act, 1971. Manipur, known as “The Jewel of India,” enchants with its serene hills and lush valleys. Meghalaya, the “Abode of Clouds,” is celebrated for its breathtaking landscapes, rich biodiversity, and cultural vibrancy. Tripura, with its proud legacy as a former princely State, captivates with its scenic beauty and flourishing tea plantations.
As we celebrate this day, we honor the diverse traditions, vibrant cultures, and invaluable contributions these States continue to make towards the nation’s progress and development.
On this special occasion, I extend my warmest wishes to the people of these States, including those residing in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. May this day bring joy, unity, and inspiration to all as we strive towards the Prime Minister’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.
